Web Development Company in Chennai
We build websites and web applications that your next developer will thank us for — documented code, sensible architecture, and a handover that includes everything. Eight years in Kodambakkam, still supporting sites we built in year one.

Most rebuilds happen because the last one was undocumented
The most common enquiry we get is not "build me a website." It's "our developer stopped responding and nobody knows how any of this works."
Somewhere there is a hosting login nobody has, a plugin doing something critical that nobody documented, and a theme edited directly so every update breaks the site. The business ends up paying twice — once for the original build, once to escape it.
That is a process failure, not a technical one. It is also entirely avoidable, and most of this page is about how we avoid it.
What we build
Four things, done properly, rather than a list of twenty we'd have to subcontract.
Custom websites
Built from scratch when a template genuinely can't do the job — unusual layouts, custom logic, or performance requirements a theme won't meet.
WordPress development
Custom themes and plugins, not a marketplace theme with edits. Built so core and plugin updates don't break anything.
Web applications
Customer portals, booking systems, internal dashboards. Anything with logins, roles and business rules behind it.
Rescue & takeover
Inheriting someone else's codebase. We audit, document, stabilise, then improve — in that order.
Custom, WordPress or template?
Agencies tend to recommend whatever they enjoy building. Here is the actual trade-off, including when we'd tell you not to hire us.
| Template / page builder | Custom WordPress | Fully custom build | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Typical cost | ₹35,000–80,000 | ₹95,000–2,50,000 | ₹3,00,000+ |
| Time to launch | 2–3 weeks | 5–8 weeks | 12–20 weeks |
| Page speed ceiling | Poor — builders ship heavy DOM | Good | Excellent |
| Content editing | Easy | Easy | Depends on the CMS chosen |
| Update risk | High — builder updates break layouts | Low if built correctly | None |
| Right when | Budget is the constraint and the site is simple | You need content control and custom features | Complex logic, integrations, or heavy traffic |
| Wrong when | You care about speed or expect to grow | Nobody will apply updates | A ₹1L WordPress build would have done it |
Most Chennai businesses that ask us for "fully custom" don't need it. We'll say so — a smaller correct build beats an oversized one you can't maintain.
What "you own it" actually means
Almost every agency says you own your website. Very few write down what you receive. This is our handover checklist, and it's in the contract.
If a developer can't give you this list before you sign, that's your answer.
Ask us for it in writingIn a Git repository you own, with commit history — not a zip file emailed on the last day.
Registered to you from day one. We never hold your domain.
Every login, documented, with you as the owner account.
What was built, why, which plugins do what, and how to deploy a change.
Every service the site depends on, who owns it, and what it costs.
So the knowledge survives your staff changing.
Nothing built on a proprietary system only we can maintain.
What we actually use
Boring, well-supported technology you can hire for in Chennai. We don't build your business on something exotic that leaves you dependent on us.

Inheriting a site nobody could update
A Chennai professional services firm came to us after their previous developer went unreachable. The theme had been edited directly, so updates broke the layout every time, and the site had been left on an unpatched WordPress version for two years. We audited it, rebuilt the customisations as a proper child theme and plugin, patched everything, and documented the lot.
From our development team
We've written a fair amount on building and maintaining sites properly.
Straight answers
How much does web development cost in Chennai?
A custom WordPress business website runs ₹95,000–2,25,000. Sites with custom features or integrations run ₹2,25,000–4,50,000. Web applications with logins and workflows run roughly ₹4,50,000–8,00,000. What changes the figure is how much custom logic is involved and how many systems you need to integrate with. Every quote is fixed-price against an agreed scope, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
Do I own the source code?
Yes, completely. You receive the full source in a Git repository you own, with commit history. Hosting and domain are registered in your name from day one — we never hold them. You also get technical documentation, every credential, a list of third-party services the site depends on, and two recorded training sessions. It's a written checklist, not a promise.
Should I use WordPress or a custom build?
WordPress if you need your team editing content regularly and your requirements are broadly standard — it covers most business websites well when built as a custom theme rather than a marketplace theme with edits. Custom if you have complex logic, heavy integrations or performance requirements a CMS can't meet. If you're unsure, the honest answer is usually WordPress; we'll tell you when it isn't.
Can you take over a website built by someone else?
Yes — it's a common request. We start with an audit: what's there, what's broken, what's a security risk, and what's undocumented. You get that assessment before committing to any fix. We then stabilise first and improve second, because rebuilding on top of an unknown codebase is how projects overrun.
What happens after launch?
Thirty days of support is included — bug fixes, small changes and questions from your team. After that you can manage it yourself with the access and documentation we hand over, or take a maintenance plan for updates, backups, security monitoring and a set number of change hours each month.
How long does a website take to build?
A custom WordPress business website takes five to seven weeks from approved scope. Sites with custom modules and integrations take eight to twelve. Web applications run twelve to twenty. You get a fixed timeline in the quote and a live staging link from week two or three, so you can see progress rather than wait for it.
